| Post subject: | Antivirus for Mac? |
Not having used anything but Windows-based systems for many years, I don't know what antivirus programs might be best for Mac OS X. I know that some say you don't need A/V for Mac but times are changing, and I prefer to overdo it on the security front anyway. Any suggestions? If possible, I'd prefer to avoid Norton, especially if it presents as many weird conflicts on OS X as it does with Windows apps. |

hmmmm... good question. One annoying way to tighten security is to have your admin settings tight on a profile that you only use for installing software. I found this to be a pain in the ass though 'cuz I'm always installing stuff. I still think it would be less of a pain than using a big hog like Norton though. |

Thanks a million guys. I hadn't considered NOT using my admin account as the primary one. Very simple to create an alternate so I'll do that tonight. Pickle, great link as is the one at the bottom of that page. Again, thanks! OK ... no Norton for sure.
