No spoilers. I got to see a screener of this last night, it's the first of several 1 1/2 hour movies that are going to be released on DVD, then edited down into individual half-hour episodes and aired on Comedy Central. It's a solid production. The 2-D and 3-D animation is just as good as you remember it, the timing and quality of the jokes is still on-target, nearly every character (including a couple that were only previously hinted at) appears, and the story has the perfect balance of silliness and sweetness to it. The only criticism I would have of it doesn't really apply to me, but if you haven't seen all of the previous episodes, you might be a little lost. Watching the original episodes will help flesh out the whole story behind Santa-bot, the Nibblonians, why Earth is being run by Nixon's head in a jar (arrooo!), etc. The movie also ends on a cliffhanger. Someone involved with the production filled me in on what that cliffhanger might lead into, but I don't want to spoil the second movie until people have seen the first one. The DVD comes out on November 27. When you see it, please post your impressions here. |

I'm actually really excited for this. I love Futurama - better and more consistent than the Simpsons IMO, and the characters rule. |

I watch Futurama ceaselessly thanks to Adult Swim. I have seen every episode 30 gazzilion times. And even after the exposure overkill I still think it's one of the most brilliant shows evah. |

Good to know that it might be as good as the previous episodes. As much as I wanted Futurama to come back, I was just as scared that it wouldn't live up to greatness of the first incarnation. |

Some of the best news I have heard in a long time! Fox fucked up bad by not renewing it. I own all of the seasons on DVD and still watch the Adult Swim ones endlessly! I model myself after the professor's attitude! What now? |

I was really afraid of the new stuff sucking or lacking the old humor, but from what you say it sounds as classic as ever. Can't wait to chiggity-check it out, thanks for the info! |

Sounds like an awesome movie Cool story about seeing a cartoon before everyone I still have you way beat in acting like a bragadocious 8th grader though, if you had added a neener neener in the end you might have came close....... |
