NPR confirms.

Evel was one-of-a-kind, I remember watching him jump regularly on TV as a kid, heart pounding as he built up the suspense.

I had a signed photo from him when I was growing up. I remember building a little ramp in my backyard and pretended I was jumping over buses...or the Grand Canyon. :(

Wow I thought he must have been older than 69!

Damn, I'm going to have to drink some whiskey tonight in his honor. Here's a picture of a tattoo I got years ago. And yes, I know I have some hairy forearms.

Damn, I remember christmas morning back in the 70's when I got my evil knievel motor home that came with ramps a figure of him and motorcycle you would wind up(it didn't have tha pull cord it had a base you put it on and you would crank a wheel on the side real fast then he would take off) so you could jump his motor home,I think it even had a gas can and a couple other small accessories, other than the christmas I got my first dirtbike(YZ 80,fast little bastard) this was probably my fondest X-mas ever..Those were tha good O'day's....
