they're sort of "undescribable"...sometimes get pigeonholed as a "noise" band. I got one album, forget which one, but could never really get into it...probably should give them another chance! Do they have a recent album out or anything? |

yeah, I know 'em -- literally! way back in '95 the company I was doing post-production / video game work for had the Boredoms do the soundtrack and I was lucky enough to get the job of hand-painting (rotoscope) the music video that we shot. Yeesh... Cool people, but not as cool as DEVO ![]() KW |

whoa KW, thats rad! their earlier stuff is more "noisey" than the later, which is a lot more coherent. vision creation newsun is a great more recent album. |

I saw the boredoms open up for Sonic Youth in 1991, they were so sick live i never got into the recordings so much. |

Anybody here ever listen to Melt Banana? |

i have seen melt banana 3 or 4 times over the years. the last time being with fantamos, i wouldn't say I "listen" to them, but they are entertaining to watch. i have been way into boris and dmbq lately though as far as japanese stuff goes. |

I like the incredibly spastic sound that they achieve, although if I listened to them all the time, I would be bound become completely psychotic. Merzbow is another interesting Japanese artist, but one who sometimes needs to be listened to in limited amounts at a time. |
