Post subject:  Hairdryer Help For Obake

I just got my zombie dog in the mail and want to put on the zombie head, where the head goes in is way different then what I am used to and am worried about messing it up, anyone switched heads on this give some advice?

I have messed with my batman brain priror with a hair dryer once I found out it had cracked paint on the eye and it seemed pretty difficult to get off even with the hair dryer, anyone have a good method for timing or how squishy it should get before attempting removal?

put the whole thing in a shoebox and cut a hole for the drier and some vents. Then heat that sucker up. Take out the fig and it should be squishy enough to pop off. I did that with the obakes and it worked great. Just my advice.

Vinyl has pretty good memory so you can heat it up til it gets very squishy....just don't drop it in cold water while its soft.

I usually only use my hairdryer while taking a cold bath.
So those suckers can just take all the heat from a hairdryer pretty easy?

As long as you don't get them in the cold water which would make them retain that shape they were in when you dropped them in, I have done that to adjust some stuff on my toys but was really worried about messing them up everytime I did it.

Just don't use a heat gun/paint stripper. It will be very difficult to regulate the heat if you do. I've used a heat gun for things other than stripping paint and if you're not careful, you can say goodbye to your toy. Vinyl can take a fair amount of gradual heat but not a high amount at one time. Clear vinyl softens a lot quicker.

i've "desheeted" and "resheeted" and obake without any problems. just take your time and go slow. it should be pretty easy to finesse but if you feel like you're having trouble...stop and hit it with a bit more heat. go slow and things will be fine.
