No offense Kirk but any MMA fan would tell you that Kimbo is nothing but a brawler. I like to see skill in the ring...not some big buffed robot out with a punch. I have never seen Kimbo throw a leg kick or try a take down or a kimura or any kind of submission. Will he go far..probably! He has what allot of people want to see which is the ability to kick someones ass. I guess I'm a bit old school when it comes down to MMA and I want it to be just that MMA..mixed martial arts. I practice a allot and it took a while to perfect a roll into an arm bar or how to apply a kimura the correct way. Very rarely do we see actual mixed martial arts now. It's gone from skill to bar room brawling. |

And by the way,Tank is washed up. At his age he has to be in shape in order to compete. Look at Randy Couture. This guy is a beast and is what 42/43 years old? |

Kimbo rules - the fight lasted 46 second. Tank is an out of shape blob although he does bench 600 lbs which is nothing to sneeze at. |

Dude, that wasnt even a contest. Tank is over the hill, and KImbo is NOT a MMA fighter, yet. Once Kimbo starts fighting people who have clinch and ground game, we will see what KImbo is made of. I like KImbo and think he's exciting to watch, but lets see him fight some one younger than 40! Being trained by Bas Rutin(sp) is a step in the right direction for him. |

It looks like all the videos have been removed from youtube? I don't like either fighter, but I'd still like to see it? |

I don't watch any of this stuff due to having lost interest in UFC after it first started cause' all anyone did was grapple for 25 min laying on the ground. That said, I've been wanting to check it all out again but haven't had time (now I'm unemployed, guess I can get started!) BUT Kimbo is so funny, I love him. Like D-Bo (sp?) from "Friday." Big, mean and nasty, I don't care for skill. |

Kimbo layed down the hammer on tank. AND it was broken up twice otherwise it would have been in about 20 seconds. |

Hey my grandpa would have kicked my ass god rest his soul. But yeah when I heard who was fighting I knew kimbo was gonna make quick change. They did that to get his foot in the door. |

Sean Gannon beat Kimbo. He then lost in his first UFC appearance to Brandon Hinkle. |

Tank used to pick fights in HB and sunset beach all the time, he has been 86'd from almost everywhere from going out and fighting with his buddies. They are both straight brawlers but to me thats what mma is, all forms of fighting. Kimbo Slice has the craziest natural fighting ability ever if he does manage to train with some skills he will be insane. |

Kimbo trains with American Top Team, and has been for a year or more. |

I just saw this Elite XC event this last night. Between this and the UFC Lesnar match, I am just hoping MMA is not heading the way of the spectacle at 200 mph. I can't stand that crap. Soon enough everybody is going to walk in wearing stupid costumes and creating annoying back stories and filling the place up with adolescent melodrama. The thing about this specific event was there were two "good" fights. Scott Smith had a great performance, albeit a slow 1st round.. Now sometimes it take a round to get yourself going, if your opponent fails to capitalize on this then, yeah, you got away with it. And I thought Yves Edwards fight was great, but I hate how he calls his fighting style "Thug-Jitsu," (see annoying spectacle comments above). I agree with several comments already that Kimbo is a 1-dimensional fighter and someone with clinch skills will break him. And of course, he will gas. But he is a charismatic, impressive striker, as Goldberg pointed out numerous times, "it puts asses in the seats." |

I have to disagree, and then agree. I love the spectacle (Kazushi Sakuraba, Genki Sudo, Jason Miller all come to mind), but spectacle with skill! There is nothing wrong with entertainment, just so long as the fights are quality. So I agree I want more quality, high performance, "technical" fights, but I also love the flair that certian fighters have for entertaining the crowd. |

I don't follow. I like competent athletes with style. Like Ali, Sugar Ray, etc. |
