Post subject:  crap start to the day

so after an awesome night seeing maiden and shit and getting home to find a couple of parcels waiting for me, one with my brain from stealthtank and another with a couple of awesmoe shirts from my buddy jeremy, my karma has taken a big 180.

while sitting at a light this morning on my way to work some jack off rear ends me. the dude had zero insurance, no registration (he said it was his cousins car), no license on him and on top of it all, i called the cops and they wouldnt come out because no one was seriously hurt and there was no damage to city property. luckily my car seems fine, but my back and my head hurt a bit.

and then to top off my morning, i spill coffee all over the nice new white shirt that i got yesterday. i feel like going back home and throwing Live After Death on my turntable and fast forwrding to thursday.

At least your back doesn't hurt for most of the day, everyday....
You never know, Scott, something might turn it all around again.

ouch... that does sound like a crappy day. Sorry to hear it's off to a bad tenor... but tomorrow should be MUCH better by comparison. (small silver lining)

Maybe this will cheer you up: http://youtube.com/watch?v=23Go05bUGPw&feature=bz301

Definitely a FTW day. You should go home ... easy to justify because, sorry to say, you might have a whiplash injury that you won't really feel until tomorrow. Smart to rest today, ideally flat on your back if you can.

I don't know how things work in your area but it couldn't hurt to file a report on the guy who hit you. He is legally at fault and filing a report might help cover your end of things with your insurance company. What a jerk. I'm amazed that the cops wouldn't come out but we're seeing the same sort of "low priority" apathy here in SF as well.

Spoil yourself dude. Don't blame your personal karma. Shit happens. Here's to better days.

always tell the cops that you don't know if you've been hurt...this may be a bit of a monday morning quarterback style for me to say, but maybe you should have told the cops that the person who hit you had no license/registration and was driving illegally.

Glad you weren't hurt though. Sucks. Don't let it fuck up your day...

Generally speaking you might have "Uninsured Motorist" or "Phantom Motorist" coverage on your policy.

You should talk to a lawyer in CA, you might not necessarily be SoL.

just a quick clarification...
my car is ok. im ok aside from a sore/stiff back and a headache. it was just a big pain in the ass and i cant believe the cops just dont give a shit about uninsured/registered/licensed dudes driving around. i won't fade.

Cops aren't out there for people anymore. To serve and protect now a days means to serve the city with revenues and protect themselves. Once the cops told you they couldn't come you should have just hit him and told him you were even.

When you tell them yeah this kid has no money or anything they aren't going to waste their time and money on a broke kid that can't pay them, they could be out giving frivalous traffic violation tickets to teenagers who most likely have a disposable income and parents or to people with nice cars that obviously have better jobs then they do. You should have just gone with the "I think he has been drinking" line, knowing they have a potential few grand chilling there they would be all over it, not to mention the nice bonuses and recognition they give cops for getting those convicitions.
