Different class is such a good album and I feel way superior to "this is hardcore". opinions? suggestions? I only have these 2 albums btw. (disclaimer to the punk listeners as pulp has nothing to do with "hardcore" as most of us know it) |

I think Different Class is their best album, Common People is a modern classic. This is Hardcore is good too, but a lot darker. |

I was introduced to them via "This is Hardcore" so that is sentimental to me (if you can consider those songs "sentimental"  )
I saw them here in Boston on that tour and they were one of the best bands I've ever seen live. They also played for about 2.5 hours. Not too many bands do that in a club these days... Great band. I can't say I care for Jarvis' solo stuff though. |

I missed them live as well. I don't think they hit the west coast for the Hardcore tour. I saw Jarvis at Coachella last year though, he was pretty good and definitely knows how to work the crowd. |

they are both good albums. the song "this is hardcore" is so freaking dark and wonderful with its deconstruction of love/porno/intercourse it makes a good companion on the playlist with the disco song "more, more, more" by andrea true connection. different class is well rounded as an album. i'm a bigger blur fan. which do you like better blur's parklife or great escape? escape for me. |

I love 'Different Class', but slightly prefer 'His and Hers'. Jarvis Cocker is a huge influence. I adore his music. |

I also like Mile End which was included on the Trainspotting soundtrack. |

This is turning into the brit pop thread. I have to say that Blurs best album is the second self titled album, the one with song 2 and coffee and TV. That was the best combination of Albarn's lyrics and Coxon's guitar playing. Graham's work on the record was amazing. His solo work is pretty good as well.
