Zack Snyder kills it again! This movie is going to be amazing! It's looking like Watchmen will be the first time an Alan Moore comic will be faithfully adapted...

V for Vendetta was pretty well done.

"Adapted" being a crucial word in this case. So much about Watchmen was so literary and form-bound. Agreed about V for Vendetta but the thing that gives me hope here is actually that the allegedly un-filmable Lord of the Rings was very finely adapted. It'll be so interesting to see how this is pulled off.

Very true. From what I've read about the director and his intentions, it seems like he is very passionate and is trying to be extremely loyal to the source material. It will never be as good as the real book but if they get the core ideas and stick with it, then I'll definitely give it a chance.

What I like about Zac is that he faithfully adapts without making it an exact carbon copy of the book onto film. I think I've been waiting for this movie since the mid 90s. I just wish the costume designers would stop making fake six packs on latex costumes. I mean come on, why stop there? Let's make the lower half of the costume look like he's packing some sausage.

Fingers crossed. I really liked the 300 comic but didn't see the movie so I don't know what to expect.

I read sam hamm's (rejected) adaptation of Watchmen a long time ago. It was fun. But it all comes down to the ending. We'll see how "faithful" the final shooting script is. The production pix look neat.

I'm a big Alan Moore fan. I thought the V movie was good. From Hell was an amazing read, but a clusterfxxk of a movie. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen film captured the spirit of the source material best of all Moore adaptations.

But for me it's all about moore's SWAMP THING. So many ways it could go wrong, but if done right it would be epic.

turtlegod---I disagree with the League comment. They royally porked those books by making a horrible film. Alan Quatermain is a recovering junky with decision making problems in the comics, in the movie he's a big-talking sean connery leader. and don't get me started on how the sexed up mina and turned her into an actual vampire.

i am prepared for disappointment with the watchmen.

Ha! Point taken. They took a ton of liberties. But I really felt they got the "spirit" right. I remember reading a moore interview about what he wanted to do with his ABC comics and "League" really exemplified the fun and adventure aspect of that. I liked the film because it was like a great ol' fashioned saturday matinee adventure movie.

I'm with you, love Moore but since he has almost nothing to do with these movies they usually go straight to hell.

I have a SMALL amount of hope for this though, it seems like it's at least going to be the BEST of the lot.
