I dabbled in death metal back in my high school days in the mid 90's, I haven't ever really gotten into it since then. I love the music, but the vocals get on my nerves. Hard rock & metal is my favorite kind of music, and some of my favorite bands are Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Machine Head, Planes Mistaken for Stars, & Danzig. |

I'm the same. I had a friend who played in a death metal band when I was in highschool. I got into it for a second, but the only band that comes to mind is Slayer. they're death metal or no? |

Bolt Thrower, love those guys. They are from my home town (Coventry). I still buy their albums and listen to them now. I will always supports my boys (and girl) lol! Carcass were a tremendous band. The covers for 'Reek' and 'Symphonies' were brutal. Sooo many bands tried to imitate that afterward, and failed miserably. True shock rockers. Shame they went limp after 'Necroticism'... Obituary were ok, but Tardy's vocals annoyed me after a while. Malevolent Creation were pretty good too. People used to bang on about Morbid Angel, but I never really cared for them. A lot of bands in the early 90's adopted that 'Florida' sound from Morrisound studios, thankfully though, that passed! |

don't think you can call these guys death metal, but i love me some Amon Amarth. That is probably the closest thing i like to death. anything that has to do with fantasy, historical events or fictional historical events, i eat up. |

Those guys are cool, more power metal maybe?? On a completely unrelated topic, I just scored tickets for Iron Maiden in June So, Cradle of Filth, great, or shite? Now, the COF I am asking about is their death metal beginnings, from the days of the 'Spattered in faeces' and 'Total f*cking Darkness' demo days. Not the glamgoffmetal they are now lol! |

man, congrats on scoring the maiden tickets! last time i saw them live was on their "seventh son of a seventh son tour". frehley's comet was suppost to open, but ace was "sick" (yeah right) - and the killer dwarfs opened. |

Yeah, I remember hearing 'Effigy of the Forgotten' and was well impressed by how deep that guys voice was! |

Mortician! I almost got barfed on by the guy from Exhumed once. umm.... Morbid Angel was great at one point... so was Cryptopsy.. Crud.. what would be my favorite. Mostly I like the death/grind or thrash metal bands best. OK, my favorite Death Metal album might be Eaten Back to Life by Cannibal Corpse. They enter your tomb-maggots-beginning to feast-maggots Crawling on you-maggots-now they eat you-maggots Rotting maggots-maggots-infesting your corpse-maggots Parasites of the dead-maggots-now dwell in your head Oh! I take all back! Favorite Death Metal band, and album is: Deceased - fearless undead machines
