So I found out today through flyers on campus that this years Botcon will be held in Cincinnati, ordinarily i would have no interest in going but since it's only a couple miles away I figure I might as well pop in for a bit. Has anyone been to one of these before? I wondering what toys they will have there other than transformers. |

Um, Botcon is dedicated to Transformer collecting. I've never been, but it's probably 95% Transformers for sale... the other 5% is most likely stuff like Macross, G.I. Joe, etc. Here's some photos from last year: http://www.botcon.com/botcon07/BC07SaturdayShowroom.html |

We had a great time (TRansformers are right next to my kaiju in my house) but if you're looking for more stuff, this probably isn't the best con to try out for that.. |

I went last year, too. I really don't care about Transformers, but there were a couple of vendors there with an excellent selection of older toys from Dougram, VOTOMS, Macross, etc. If that's what you're looking for, it's worth checking out. Plus it's just an entertaining people-watching experience, waiting on line for tickets and listening to the folks in front of you debate the 1980s cartoon as if it's a Kurosawa film. |

I have a decent Transformers collection, but a lot of the hardcore Transformers are too much for me. I don't really care about who Optimus Prime dated his Senior year in high school, I just like big robots that can turn into cars. Plus the Pretenders are Robots and Kaiju, win win. |

Yeah that would be a lot of fun. I'm trying to organize a little event for the summer in Boston. I hope to have some details ironed out soon! |
