Oil has hit $122 a barrel:

http://money.cnn.com/2008/05/06/markets ... /index.htm

Zinc prices are rising dramatically:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/05/06/coin.i ... index.html

The basic materials used to make our plastic monsters and metal robots are getting more expensive by the day. Add to that a weakening dollar, rising foreign labor and transportation costs, and you can see it's going to be rougher and rougher for manufacturers and collectors alike.

Adjust your disposable income accordingly...

It's probably a good thing, back to bikes and public transport. I still don't understand families having more than two cars but then again.... people ask me why I collect the same figure with so many colorways

Bikes are the way to go. That and I think On-line shopping should become more popular. Which is perfect for me, because I can't get any Vinyl in the Midwest.

I wanna sell my wife's car and buy her a Sym Mio scooter, but she won't even ride on the back of my motorcycle:

Once they make a better electric car I'd like to get one. There's a dealership near me and I always rubberneck as I drive by. Someday....

pffft... I wish, the only horse power for my bike is how fast I can move my own legs. However those pictures do inspire me to take my kaiju along with me, I want some pictures of my toys out in the wild... If I'm broke it's not like I'll have much else to do.

I got a camry hybrid last August. I went from having to fill up every 10-14 days to 23-25 days. It's saved me a ton even though my car payment is more.

That's good to know. I live in the midwest and not driving is not an option. Public transportation blows here.

Yeah thats it- I might a buy a private jet or two also, and have always fancied a helicopter.

But hey you guys are gonna have much more fun with your horse and carts.

Still a private jet will be of no use as oil will cost $5 trillion a gallon, but it would make a hell of a place to entertain my lady friends. :D

I'm loving this.

and as for a horse and cart, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. I always was awesome at Oregon Trail. Hopefully nobody in my family would get disentary.

I'm with you there. I live in Lexington, and the only public transportation we have absolutely sucks.

I live close enough to some stuff where a bike would be a viable option, but not for going to work unfortunately.

Unfortunately we don't have many diesel cars over here. VW is making some that meet California's emission standards so hopefully we'll have some soon.
