I am considering pre-ordering one of these, but only if the inner jaw retracts/lower jaw is closeable…does anyone happen to have info?

All pics I can find (including Sideshow’s gallery) show the inner jaw fully extended, making me think that it’s molded in that fixed position…

Any pics right now are of proto's so it seems hard to say how the production one will come out. My guess is it's stationary from the pics and considering the VCD's by Medicom aren't known for having many features besides looking awesome. MAYBE the little inner-alien will go in and out, but even that I doubt.

can someone post a pic? i just got my large marmit alien and love it except for it seems whoever applied the paint to mine, went just a tad too heavy on the clear inner coating above the skull and all you can see is the top of the head of the skull, you cant see the eye sockets at all. thinking of finding someone who can confidentally remove the paint applied to it and then respray, matching the color again but just doing it lower

Thanks for the input, bd!

Playdoh- here's the link to Sideshow's preorder page:

There's a gallery link under the main pic.

As for redoing your Marmit Alien, I have to recommend either Joe Dunaway (http://www.modelzone.com/) or John Allred (http://www.herebemonsters.org/). Either would do a kickass job for you.

Just curious, which Marmit is it? The A-Type or B-Type statue, or the two-footer they came out with last year?

No, I met both of them through the Clubhouse garage kit modeling forum and both have done some nice custom work for me. Here's a post on my blog about a reworked 12" Eye Scream Garamon that John did for me:

...and check out Joe's page of toy customs:

As you'll see in looking through his other galleries, Joe has also done quite a few Alien pieces and knows the subject matter like the back of his hand!
