After kicking the crap out of Sean Sherk BJ licked the blood off his gloves then ran over to Sherk (still down) and wiped blood off of his face and licked it.

The greatest victory celebration ever!!!!!

BJ Penn owned Sherk, I guess he couldn't maintain the intensity without the 'roids. BJ rules, he looked like he just finished a couple rounds of sparring when it was all said and done.

Silva lived-up to the Ax Murderer moniker. Jardine has been on the receiving end of a couple of the most vicious KO's, glass jaw?

Tito crying that Machida wouldn't stand in front of him to take a beating? That last knee to the body was brutal!

Dammit. Missed another one.

So... the blood licking thing seems to be becoming a victory celebration for BJ. He did close to the same thing when he beat Matt Hughes.

Worth purchasing the replay. Hell I might even get it again.

Tito can cry all day about Machida if that makes him feel better. Remember when Tito dropped his guard and was egging Machida to come up to him? Well, Machida did--and rocked Tito's face. He had some great kicking combos on Tito, too. Machida held his own and wasn't afraid of the guy; being evasive was a great strategy; Tito is hard to get away from once you get tangled up with him. Machida even let Tito get up after he knocked him down, when anyone else would've kicked him in the face. I really respect how he handled the fight. He respect's the fighters, and respects the spirit of martial arts. cool.

Silva is looks like a pit bull! I knew he was going to win the second those two locked eyes before the fight. I guess Jardine must be a decent fighter, but in the highlight reel he just looks like he won by accident half the time. I dunno. Anyway I hope to see more of Silva. He's a beast.

BJ Penn is amazing. I don't think Sherk was confident enough to take Penn anyhow. He tried though.

the blood-licking was a bit much.

I really like how the UFC has more talented strikers competing. It seemed like in the beginning, the grapplers beat everyone out.

I'm certainly no expert, but I see this as an evolution of the sport. People like Penn and GSP have the power of the "old school grapplers" but have other gifts as well, effective striking and self control. The self control thing is the evolution, I think... When you are comfortable, and steady you can implement a strategy.

I am certainly no mixed martial artist, but I do have 10 years of Judo experience and almost 6 years of Jiu Jitsu experience now, it took so long for me to get comfortable in competitions. I can definitely attest to being more successful when I am comfortable and prepared, physically and mentally. People like Penn (nowadays), GSP, Urijah Faber, and Anderson Silva impress me so much because of their confidence and control. I can only imagine how crazy it must be in that octagon!
