Got a Kid today in the mailbox, MIB.

Problem is, it has some black marks on the nose and the finger.

Question : can I remove them and how ?

discoloration is pretty normal on BXH vinyl, especially Kid Hunter which is a bit old compared to other vinyl toys.

once i used googone(i bought this at target when i was in the states)---proved to be effective.

but the "darkening" or "yellowing" did not completely disappear, but its kinda ok to me.

on this pic, you can see the black spot on the nose area of my Kid H.

carefull w/ the magic eraser jl. it can be very abrasive and take off more of the paint than you would want. use it lightly and maybe try it on the bottom of foot first.

I used a Magic Eraser on the KH without overdoing it..It cleaned the figure up nicely and did not do any extra damage.

So KH & ME are friendly w/ each other :P

i apply it very lightly on vinyl surfaces, it works to remove sticky stuffs on the vinyl and other marks.

Yea, I'd really be careful with GooGone.

Serious warning on the googone!!! I used it to clean off some (what appeared to be) dark grease spots off my Dalek Spacebot 13 and ended up with what looks like a bleach spot. It took layers of the yellow paint off. Be very careful

I've used it on some Lau figures--vinyl similar to the BXHs Kid and Bounch--thinly applied, but yeah, pretty tricky though.

Old marks and yellowings are hard to remove from these type of vinyl.

Would this work on an Eyezon? I have one with a small black spot on it.

Kind of off-topic, but is BxH stuff made in China or Japan? I don't collect it, but it just seems like they have a lot of QC problems from things I've read around here...

mostly made in china--except for collabs with secret base. dx skull kuns and kaws kuns are made in japan.

Thanks, that explains a lot. I've only seen a couple DX-kuns in real life, but those along with the clears and Melts always looked like they were made of better quality vinyl than most of their other releases. Too bad he doesn't just produce it all locally...
