Well that's just rediculous. I don't own that much SB stuff, I'm here for mostly the "patchi element" and RFSO peoples who are the coolest. It's the most exciting thing going. I just love how the love for kaiju gets cut out like they never existed. Most of this crap is starting to sound like the doll communities. |

What a tease. I love reading articles about the "toy scene" and hearing other people's opinions whether it be from a collector, creator, seller etc. but this article definitely came up short in my opinion. What did it actually leave the reader with? That there are a lot of different kinds of toys out there and that they can be lumped into a few distict catagories... Wow, brilliant.

yeah, I should make it clear that I'm here for my love of all things MONSTER. I mean, I like that they're toys and all, but it's not the fact that they're toys that I buy them, it's that they're monster toys. that's why I don't really buy toys that aren't (I don't own any vinyl other than kaiju stuff and SB, no Kaws, no Kozik, etc.) therefore, I'm really more of a monster collector than a toy collector. |

It's like the record stores who always put "recommended if you like..." on new and weird store. It seems to assume that you can't like something thing if you don't already like something exactly like it. It's too genre and cliquey. JP vinyl is the most fun to me because the toys are the best quality and generally the most unusual and fun designs around right now. And they all stand on their on two legs without a lot of extra effort on my part. That being said, try to take my Ghonner and I'll beat you to death with it. |

I also think the Japanese just happen to often enjoy/create cool shit. but it's not that fact that they're Japanese that I'm buying them. If there were some awesome Welsh Baragon toys or something, I'd buy them. but there's not. right? |

I'll spare everyone a complicated argument, but suffice it to say, labels are so useless (except to search for things on YJA )...As has been said a million times before: buy/collect what you like, talk about it, trade it, post new ideas etc. and try not to piss on someone else's parade...it's an easy recipe for having fun which is the whole point!

This makes me angry. Why would VP give an anonymous columnist a chance to slam the SB collectors for no reason and with no context? The article is basically, hello I won’t tell you who I am and btw SB collectors are jerks. What is the point? It also bothers me that people never seem to put the RFSO stuff in context. That attitude started because people on the KR board used to spend a lot of time telling us how lame/ugly these toys were. In fact they still do. |
