Finally got this on vinyl. I couldn't find the 180 gram version but got the marbled grey and black. Holy crap, what awesome packaging. The texture of the jacket is so nice and the gatefold is metal it hurts.

yeah, was lucky enough to pick-up the 180g version

vinyl x2 = HEAVY AS HELL

the texture of the jacket is indeed a nice touch .....I actually have an old Creedence LP (stolen from my dads record collection) with the exact same cover finish..... made me smile when I first opened my Southernlord package to discover they'd gone to so much effort for Black One - pure class!

I found out they're playing in Toronto in two or three weeks with Oren Ambarchi opening. Man, if i had a spare $500 kicking around, i would be flying there.

I'm still impressed with the package this morning... the inside of the record sleeves are black!!! so very doom.

Stephen O'Malley does a great job with the art and special packaging work on Southern Lord releases.

I really blew it and could have seen Khanate live in NOLA right before Hurricane Katrina but I wasn't quite living there yet.

I did interviews with both O'Malley and Anderson which I might post on the EsoTerra website if there's any interest...

We've got a review of the new Boris in issue #13 of Super7!

And SunnO)))'s Black is indeed !

i'd love to see that. There's a good interview online somewhere. I was taken off-guard by them; they seemed quite down to earth.
