Hey all, I'm looking for an html editor so I can work on my webpages. The last CPU I had had frontpage, but what I'm running now doesn't have anything, and I don't have the old programs anymore. Are there any decent freeware apps out there?

thanks,

Phil

I've played around a bit with HTML Notepad.

Not free, but the final version of Macromedia Homesite is available as a $99 download:

And whatever you do, don't forget to run your code through Tidy:

I use HTML Trim as a front end for it:

Not sure how complex of a web page you are considering, but I prefer the free Netscape 'Composer' that came installed on my computer when I bought it 6 years ago for generating basic html.

Netscape's gone of course, but Mozilla's Seamonkey includes a free HTML editor. I'd bet just about anything it is the same one..

What about Text Edit (on Mac) or what I think is called Wordpad on Windows? Or do you mean a "light" WYSIWYG editor that is more graphical in nature?

If you were going to go that light on windows, i'd choose notepad over wordpad.

use a trial of Adobe dreamweaver.

front page is a POS. MS expressions web is better.
