Just curious. I took a class a few years ago. Just the basics, but it was very helpful learning the kanas and basic sentence structures. (I already knew a lot of the kanji since I speak Chinese.) I find it's more polite to speak a few Japanese phrases when interacting with folks in Japan. (Not to mention it makes it a whole lot easier to read YJA auction headings!) |

I have been taking japanese for a little over 2 years now. and I tested at the intermediate mid level actfl for verbal. I am not so good with the kanas, I can read all hiragana most katakana, only a few kanji. I seem to get blasted on here when I have used romaji a few times in the past so I avoid it all together... |

Quote: I know enough to understand Hentai ![]() Parka, I meant to post this back when we were discussing definitions like yaoi and yuri, but didn't have time for the proper link. So now, for you & everyone to enjoy, something first brought to my attention by a friend who knows me a bit too well, perhaps. Enjoy! http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/03/27 ********************* Now, on to the matter at hand -- I know a little of the ol' nihongo, mainly because I'm self-taught thru books & dictionaries and the like. I know most of the katakana now because of all my research. And, as a wise man has said before and I paraphrase: "I know enough Japanese to get myself in trouble." hee hee... ^_^ |
