Also actually, I know Living Dead gets to live in an area with tons of Americans and American comforts...I was living as a foreigner in Tokyo...the more you try to assimilate the more resistance you get. I faced more discrimination in Japan as I started acting more "Japanese" and getting better at the language. All that aside, I am still thinking about moving back FOR GOOD. |

REdYOdA wrote: ...and after this, we'll go stand in the Krispy Kreme line for 2 hours. LOL I did that once at the one in Shinjuku. Well, it was more like 30 minutes. But the good thing was they brought free donuts to the people in line! When I was in the area last week, I walked over the bridge and thought I'd have myself a donut....till I saw the 45 minute line. Pass! |

andy wrote: Interesting. I'd love to hear more about your experiences. PM me and I'll tell you about it, I don't wanna bore everyone on the board. Tattoo's gave me a lot of problems, and ironically within the oppressed/taboo gay scene I found lots of racism and "japanese only" kinda attitudes. But to be fair, it's probably no more racism/discrimination than in the united states, I'm just not used to being racially profiled by police, etc. |
