what movie would you love to see a sequel to that you know will never be made ? it can also be a movie that sequels have already been made (like star wars )but with no plans for any more .

So be it, let's petition John Carpenter!

I like the idea, so let's better NOT petition John Carpenter. That would be like petitioning Dario Argento to do a SUSPIRIA sequel. Oh wait-

I tend to wish that sequels never be made of movies I love, since 9 times out of 10, they wind up messing up the whole thing.

i disagree.
take the friday the 13th series.
installments 5-7 are all pretty much identical.
part 8 they tried mixing up a bit. same thing, but in manhattan.
part 9 they went waaaay off the deep end by making jason a worm
part 10 shot further out there, way the hell out into space!
(can possibly pass as) part 11, villian vs. villian in cheesy showdown story.

and after all of this, do you know what i want? part 12. and i'm not talking about that shitty remake either).

there are tons of good sequels out there. citizen toxie almost tops the toxic avenger. both of bava's Demons and Demons 2 hold about equal ground. A Nightmare On Elm Street Part 2 kicks so much ass that i think i've watching it tons more than the OG. I really dig Return of the Living Dead, which is considered by some to be an alternate route for the Night of the Lving Dead story arc. T2. Resident Evil: Apocalypse. Dawn of the Dead. Fulci's Zombie (which was released in Italy as Zombi 2, another alternate story arc take from Night Of The Living Dead). i could go on for awhile here.... :D

Yeah, sure I can think of sequels that I thought were better or as good as the first one, (Clerks/Clerks II come to mind) )but I can think of far more that the sequels just start a downward spiral. Take Shrek. The first one was great, the second one was still OK, but clearly inferior, and the third one was terrible. Same with the Pirates of the Carribean mvoies. SPider Man. Batman (before Christopher Nolan took over). Terminator, yes, T2 was great, but Part 3? I couldn't even make it through to the end. And the stinky Disney movie sequels (I'm a big Disney fan) are typically so bad they go direct to video. Nearly every Hollywood franchise just goes down and down after the first one. As fo0r cult movie/Horror sequels, and horror movies in general. Hmm. To me they're in a class by themselves. Horror fans (and I definitely consider myself one) are rather indiscriminate. On Netflix, when I can find a horror flick with higher than a 2.5 star rating and I'm like 'Wow. This one must be great!" whereas I wouldn't even consider adding a drama with less than 4 stars. I too love all the Friday the 13th sequels, Nightmare on Elm Street, Hellraiser, etc. but I don't fool myself into thinking they are 'good' by any objective standard outside of the fan community.

Well in all honesty..I'd love to see a Matrix 2. The first one was mind blowing imo. The 2nd and 3rd were just stupid. They had so much potential to go all over the map and the sequels were just dumb.

Anyway Titanic 2 was a joke.

Here's the movie Preview. Pretty funny in my opinion. Just wait till the 2 minute mark

whoever thinks clerks 2 was as good as or superior to clerks 1 should have their netflix privileges revoked!
