That's exactly what they say: Monkey Corps. "Bullmark's Saru no Gundan." |

The official title for 「猿の軍団」(Saru-no Gundan) is ARMY OF THE APES. Some of the key episodes of this 26-episode, 1974 series, were compiled to make TIME OF THE APES for Sandy Frank Enterprises, and made famous by being an experiment on MST3K. |

Dr. Gori's henchman, Rah (aka Karas) from SPECTREMAN! The manufacturer is Soda. Don't mean to doubt you, August, but there is a large Masudaya (Modern Toys) logo on the box. |

Mark, I'm just reporting what I read on the cover (I read Japanese); the company's name is emblazoned in the lower right corner of t he box. There have been times where two Japanese companies worked together -- one made the plastic and t he other made the clockwork parts. Additionally, I've seen the "Modern Toys" mark on products other than Masudaya. UPDATE: I just looked up the Dr. Gori saucer in one of Yuji Nishimura's books -- the manufacturer is listed as Soda-ya The very same name on the box you posted here. |
