That's exactly what they say: Monkey Corps.

"Bullmark's Saru no Gundan."

The official title for 「猿の軍団」(Saru-no Gundan) is ARMY OF THE APES. Some of the key episodes of this 26-episode, 1974 series, were compiled to make TIME OF THE APES for Sandy Frank Enterprises, and made famous by being an experiment on MST3K.

Don't mean to doubt you, August, but there is a large Masudaya (Modern Toys) logo on the box.

Mark,
I'm just reporting what I read on the cover (I read Japanese); the company's name is emblazoned in the lower right corner of t he box. There have been times where two Japanese companies worked together -- one made the plastic and t he other made the clockwork parts. Additionally, I've seen the "Modern Toys" mark on products other than Masudaya.

UPDATE: I just looked up the Dr. Gori saucer in one of Yuji Nishimura's books -- the manufacturer is listed as Soda-ya The very same name on the box you posted here.
