Miles is a master ceramic artist - you should see his giant ceramic kaiju like Matango, Cumberlain and Eyezon - simply stunning!

Thanks on the Chihuahua. .. this one is super special. It was fired in a traditional Anagama wood burning kiln. They told me it wouldnt work but when all was said and done it came out amazing and as good, if not better, then everything else in the kiln. Typically an Anagama kiln is fired for about 5 days, adding wood every ten minutes. Its totally natural, no glazes, the color is from the wood ash. An amazing experience..... lack of sleep, smoke inhalation and sun burns from the extreme heat of the kiln.

Oh for those in the bay area, the bar Forbidden island in Alameda uses our fugus for a drink. Check em out.

Back when the Tonga Room at the Fairmont was more fun than it is now, they had all sorts of cool tropical and tiki themed ceramic mugs for drinks. I don't know if they were vintage or repros, but they were the greatest. I remember being served "The Scorpion" in a big round mug with ocean waves and smiling bare-breasted mermaids all around it. So fun. I visited again last January, and they'd de-kitsched the place too much, now serving watery drinks in boring bar glasses. I wish they'd invest in your mugs Polyestercowboy. It'd help to make the place fun again.

Never heard of Forbidden Island but that's a great name for a place in Alameda. :-) I'll try to get over there. Best wishes for the opening tonight!

Can't believe this set is still available. Especially considering how few were made. Nevermind the fact that this set is just plain awesome.
