Looks allright but I want more of a novel less of a research paper. Know what I mean? That one is to non-fiction I think. |

I dunno if Salman Rushdie would fit the bill...look into either The Moor's Last Sigh or The Satanic Verses. |

Rushdie is an amazing word smith but doesnt excite me. Chopra is great for getting the east meets west blooming but I dont see him as a novelist. I know his son is writing comics now but thats still not it. Keep it coming. Think of something like Chopras ideas, sword and sorcery in a modern context, and a hullucinatory terrain. Perhaps no book like this exists yet but I doubt it. It's all out there somewhere. |

Pinchbeck is good but he doesn't write fiction. try to find something, anything by robert anton wilson. he covers all of that better than anyone. Illuminatus! trilogy for example, Schrodinger's Cat Trilogy... those are good works of fiction but his non-fiction is even better and will change your life for ever. ie. Cosmic Trigger (also a trilogy) here is a video intro to some of his philosophies.... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... ogic&hl=en |

I am onto R.A.W. Closer yes. There is a very specific reason I need fiction that I dont want to get into. Grant Morrison's The Invisibles in a more realistic setting of a novel would be the key. |

"The Invisibles in a more realistic setting"???? dunno about that one. Invisibles and realistic setting kinda cancel each other out. The whole idea behind this type of stuff is that "reality" is not "real". how about: Thomas Pynchon 'The Crying of Lot 49' Philip K. Dick 'VALIS Trilogy' *** (muey bueno) |

Maybe not drug induced enough for you, but Haruki Murakami is insanely complex and very wild in his approach. The Mezzanine by Nicholson Baker is a good read, and is mind altering simply in it's out look on the "real world". It is a highly detailed account of a trip from the lobby to the mezzanine on some poor saps lunch break. |

Indeed, A Wild Sheep Chase & Dance Dance Dance are wicked pissers as well! On some David Lynch kinda feel I would say. Good choice with the cock and pynchon. VALIS is a personal fav. "The Empire never ended" |

'Just a Couple of Days' by Tony Vigorito? Enjoyed the hell out of that one. Tom Robbins' books might also fit your bill...but not sure how 'modern' they are any more.. |

did anyone watch Little Britain? This reminded me of their skit where the guy that walks into a store and asks for the something super specific like a book of british music from 1348-1349 when the shopkeep hands him the book, he looks at it for a second and says something like oh i was really hoping for a book with 315 pages |

I have had people asks for books on their local neighborhoods with pictures between certain dates. It's not that this book exists mind you, it's that they want it to exist! I normally suggest that they have found a niche market that they need to exploit through small print releases. |
