So I turn 30 on Wednesday. I haven't really been thinking about it. I took a few days off this week for it and figured I will enter into my 30s gracefully. Thursday night my roommate called me and asked if I could help him carry in a Ikea desk. It was around 9 and I was tired but of course agreed. So he calls me to let me know he is outside. I walk down the stairs and see nothing but the back of someone with people hiding behind. The person turns around jumps 5 feet in the air and shoves a cream pie in my face.
2 of my best friends flew into town to return a prank we had been pulling on each other for years. (Last year we flew into dc for one of their birthdays. With the help of his girlfriend, we got him the day off of work. He got up as usual for his day of work while we hid in the shower. He got there to turn the water on and well we scared the living shit out of him and got him with a pie or 3.)
This year they got me at the bottom of those stairs. After that I went around the corner to help them get "their bags". I was then greeted by the rest of my friends from SF and all 12 had pies in their hands. FUCK! I was destroyed. Good thing I got to go back inside to shower off after that. Although no sooner than I walked back to the top of the stairs I was greeted with another surprise. Another friend who flew in to pie me. FUCK. finally done. I took off my pants so I could get into the shower. Oh wait. one last DC friend to jump out and pie me.

thanks to Brian and Glenn who helped them get me day off yesterday so I could go to trampoline world in san jose and really feel my age.
