A couple days ago, some huge trailer trucks started parking near the subway that I take into the city.
Next day, they started blocking off the street where I usually park my car. Then I put 2 and 2 together.

Ended up that U2 was scheduled to play a small free show (8-900 seats) in town at the local 2nd run theatre.
Tickets given out via radio contests and such.

I own original U2 vinyl albums so you'd think I'd be excited about the band coming to town, but whatever.
Guess I'm not a serious fan. Is the new album even worth listening to??

I can't believe they're still around. Bono looks ancient these days.
I think I saw them play twenty years ago. Kind of smart marketing to attempt to reinvent themselves and create a buzz.

Aside from fucking up my commute, kinda cool that they mingled with fans on the street before and after the show.

yeah the hype over this was crazy.

i made sure to avoid davis last night as i wouldn't want to deal with all of the "yah dudes".

they're bigger here than elsewhere i think. people love them, but i think the whole irish population here rallies behind them.

i saw them ...eep...21 years ago at the Boston garden on the Joshua Tree tour. they were great..everyone was sitting down the whole time too. that's the second concert i had been to and it was a blast.

man, now i feel old.
i cant believe that it's been that many years since the joshua tree tour.
we met them at their hotel after the show. a friend of mine was like the uber fan. it was a little weird, i was like a foot taller than bono.
they've always been very generous with their fans.
