I'm trying to help my dad out. He sent his computer in to HP to have something fixed, I think it was hard drive related. Anyway they fixed it but there are now a couple of weird things happening. When he first boots up there is a crazy magnifying thing going on. I'm not sure how to describe it any better really but before it goes to any screen it has a black screen with borders and the magnifyer pointer. Anything he points at gets automatically enlarged. We've managed to exit it but it happens every time he boots up. Does anybody know how to remove this or just stop it from happening?

Is this happening when it gets into the OS?

Which OS is on the machine?

Did you try turning it off and then on again?

it's windows vista, I can't find a way to stop it all I see is a minimize option but that just makes the screen 1/4 the size it was before. My dad says he hit some keys by accident and that's what started it up though I'm not sure that's the case. It has something to do with the magnifier pointer but I can't seem to find a way to stop it entirely...

yes and every time it's still there although now I see sometimes it starts with the desktop and will magnify the desktop picture or link icons and other times it starts at a pre-desktop screen that is all black, very strange...
