I have a strange problem, a few months ago something changed and I am no longer able to view the Gargamel website or any pictures linked from it. The page just never loads and times out after 30 seconds or so. Specifically it says, "Failed to Connect". This is the only website I have problems with. Please help I'm tired of not being able to check out the site. |

If both those don't work and you are for some reason being blocked from your location. Try this: http://gargamel.jp.nyud.net:8080/ That link is just re-routing the url through a proxy. |

It's just a memory of where you have been so that when you go back it doesn't require as much server activity to deliver content. Sometimes it gets screwy and will remember an error rather than the proper content. You don't really lose anything when you clear it out, I guess just a few seconds here and there. |

though the new link works it takes fucking days to load. I tried to clear the cache but I'm not sure I really found it, is it under web browser options of stuff to delete, is it the same as cookies? |

In Firefox. Click Tools. Click Clear Private Data. You can then choose what data you want to clear and than go from there. The other link takes a long time to load because it is going through a proxy server. If the cache doesn't do the trick you could try a different browser out. On a mac I would use Camino http://caminobrowser.org/, and on a PC you could try Crome. http://www.google.com/chrome |

browser history + cache + cookies then restart your browser. that should do it. in firefox: Tools > Options > Privacy > Private Data > Clear Now!! I don't think of these things when I'm not at work...otherwise I would have mentioned it to you over the weekend |

@Slack- Are you trying to connect from home or work? I use an updated version of Firefox as well, and can connect without this problem. Even if you're at home, there could be other weird problems like security software tagging the website as 'unsafe.' |

Strange. I bet it is something to do with security. I've been noticing inexplicable web problems a lot lately for people who are using routers. They are hard to configure and often have there own security settings. If you are behind a wireless router and are able to plug directly into the modem to test, check that out and see if you have a problem. If all else fails try sticking .nyud.net:8080 at the end of the site's address. As mentioned before it will load slower, but if for some reason your provider or computer is blocking the site that should get you around it. |

Also cleared the cache now and still doesn't load. I'd rather not go to a different browser for now so I guess I'll just use the other link. Oh well thanks for trying |

well I made some test at home, I tried to log on www.gargamel.jp with my Iphone and another PC and still nothing, and I tried at work and I was able to get into the site with no problem, I'm using the same internet provider in both places but the router is different, maybe that's where the problem is |
