Hi guys, question about flat vinyl. I am considering getting rid of my Ikea Expedit. Its a dumb shelf for toys, the spaces are too deep & its dark in the back, you can't see the toys in it. My only hesitation is that I also use the cubes for LPs & 7" boxes. I don't use too much of it, so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good 12" cube storage solution? Ideally stackable I love these, but they are kinda pricey & I can't find a US Seller: Basically, looking for more of a cheaper version of this: iCube

Yeah, I wish you could still get those wooden crates that stores like Peaches Records used to sell. Cheap, held a lot of records, and they were stackable. I knew people who had whole walls of them. |

I had a similar problem. I solved it by buying more records and filling my Expedit. Now I need a new bookcase for toys. |

I have the same problem. I ended up buying an old teak media unit, and luckily it was SO old that it had LP cabinets--slats inside too--otherwise I was working on 2 years with no solution! |

I'm not sure how much I would trust a stack of these, but i've used ikea's trissa box to hold records on a temporary basis. They have a larger size that's a little over 13x13, which means you could turn them on their side and stack them. It's pretty thin wood, and anything more than a stack of two may risk crushing the lower tier. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40101276 |

I know what your saying. I use (2) 16 cube Expedit units for my Lps. Only problem is they are just a little too deep and don't have a back. Unfortunately it's the cheapest and most practical solution out there. There is also the option of the small version. Flipped over it's perfect for putting a turntable and sound system on top with Lps below. ![]()

I use these; they stack and protect from UV, dust, etc. http://www.bagsunlimited.com/cart/browse.asp?subcat=14 |

I should have grabbed some yesterday at Vintage Vinyl. |
