For the past couple of weeks I've been scrambling to get together a Commander Data costume for Starfest here in Denver. The uniform is the first hand sewn garment I've ever made, and the phaser was a kit I got from Rodenberry.com that I built and painted.
Brent Spiner made an appearance at Starfest, and loved the costume! He asked me everything from how I did the makeup to where I got my yellow contacts. It's was truly a moment for a Super Geek. It's not everyday one gets to meet his childhood hero. Very nice guy, turns out we are even from the same neighborhood in Houston, Texas.
