I love d.c.'s iconic characters but those look incredibly dumb. It's hard to figure out what market they are even aiming for. |

That's exactly what I was wondering. Too weird for kids, and too goofy for older people. I agree with Cralya, they're either nuts, or on acid. |

It just seems to me like they're going for the whole "art toys" "urban vinyl" crowd 100%. They saw Mighy Muggs and wanted IN on that action. I love DC, but these suck. Bad designs, unoriginal and just stupid looking. |

I like DC Direct's action figures, they're usually cool. They should stick to those. Vinyl, ABS Plastic, resin, wood, I honestly could care less about the material as long as it looks good. I don't think these do. They feel like there's no spirit behind them except the spirit to cash in on the "vinyl" buzz. Whether or not that's true, it SEEMS that way to me, no soul. |

Sometimes I thought it was just me and I was a mean old man. Yeah these really suck and I don't know if I would lump them into "american idols" I imagine the KR crowd would probably not go for these either. |

Well the blatant rips of kubricks didn't go over, so I doubt these will, but then KR did have those whole plecol things or whatever they hell they were... The comments on the link though make this post worthwhile. I especially liked the comment about aquaman's hair and no face. |

I didn't get a chance to see these... But I can imagine, especially with the mention of the stupid Muggz or whatever the hell they are called. On that note I join the DC direct standard figure love. Now go tell them to make some DK2 figures to go with my Dark Knight returns set. |

Damnit BloodDrinker, I had to Google them after all the venom that was spit in this thread... Shame on you DC, shame on you... The mere fact that these are even being considered being made is just awful... These are the Matthew McConihay of "toys" if you can even call them that... These are just... Just awful. |

DC's licensing people seem to release (or not release) figures with no rhyme nor reason. First, DC Direct is great, no complaints. These are quality figures designed for a niche target group of consumers; the collectors. They sell mainly at comic stores so they don't have a lot of peg-warmers. Then they came out with DC Universe classics; similar to DC Direct, but sold in retail stores and just enough out of scale with DC Direct figures to throw your eye off. But worse; the quality varies- Doomsday, who should be Hulk-sized, at least; is shorter than Superman. And it puzzles me why they release obscure figures that used to be DC Direct's forte. But that doesn't bug me as much as other things. There there are the JLU and DC Infinite Heroes, the former are usually Target exclusives. Mattel has told Target that they won't get any "new" figures until they unload most of their peg-warmers. My Target still has a dozen 3 packs of Commisoner Gordon and 2 Gotham City S.W.A.T officers. Who thought this would sell? No Batman in sight, but here Johnny, here's Batman's friend, the Commish! And two cops for the Joker to kill- if you could find a Joker. Also, the only way to get Hal Jordan JLU figure is to get the SDCC one; while 100 of Hal's fellow GL Corps buddy, Killowog, rot on the shelves. And yes, those Pocket heroes sucked! Flimsy and cheap looking, and then Mighty Muggz, another cookie cutter crap-fest. There's even some rip-off of the Medicom Marvel Heroes called Vinylzz or something similar. Add a "Z" to the end of a word and make it hip!And to think, in this economy, some brain-dead, fundamentally twisted pariahs got paid to "create" Blammoids. But I'm not bitter. |

Looks like they were "conceptualized" from a bin of overrun parts from other bad toys. Thankfully, they didn't defile Lobo in this manner..... And why on earth would you show photos of your yet-to-be-released product with one of its arms broken off? That certainly reassures potential consumers of your commitment to quality. |
