I don't listen to hip hop, but this confuses me.
Doesn't get my blood going like christian or GOP punk, but it has to be along the same lines.

yeah, I'm watching that and I too am confused. Uh, how is it these guys are rapping conservative views? Most of the hip hop / rap stuff I've heard is pretty much on the opposite end of the political scale.

I'll stick to stuff like Underoath and As I Lay Dying :D They, at least, are intelligent with they lyrics and don't beat you over the head with the message.

What's with the full minute of dead air at the end?

I get an image of W driving around the ranch, with this track blaring & doing lines off the dashboard...

No matter what the subject matter is, this is just horrible anyway you look at it. If I were Jesus I'd be ashamed.

I'd rather avoid it all together.
Seems to me it disgraces the original intentions of the individual musical genres.
Neo con Hip Hop or Punk, christian Metal and any variation of metal. Just strikes me as weird... and surely their influences don't agree with their views, so at some point they strayed, and to continue down that path while saying that their influences were wrong comes across as hypocritical (I'm not sure if I have expressed myself clearly enough here, but the gist of it is there).

I suppose it would be different if they were taking the piss, Like Jewdriver or White Pride (touchy subject I know), or even Hard Skin. but none of these guys are.

(I am listening to As I Lay Dying, and, yeah, they are good, but give me Darkthrone or 1349 any day :) )

Because of the music? or just in general? ;)

Hahahahaha that made my morning. I don't listen to anything and say "that SHOULD be liberal/conservative" because that's stupid to do, I think. Dixie Chicks are doing the same thing, spreading a more liberal message with a traditionally conservative music genre. I get the initial shock of say "conservative or religious metal/punk/hip-hop" but then it's like "well it's just music and these guys are using it the same way anyone does." Which is to spread a message on their views. Just because I personally don't agree doesn't mean I'm going to scream and label it "Propaganda!" not that anyone here IS doing that, just an example, that happens a lot. What's the difference other than you agreeing or disagreeing with the lyricist?

I also don't define myself on either side, then I'd have to be "Jeff: republican" or "Jeff: democrat." I like "Jeff: goofball" best. That's why I like politics out of my music. I'll choose my social and financial views by reading news sources and all, I'll choose my music by who rocks ass and taps into something BEYOND bullshit games.

Anyway, these dudes rule, make me laugh. Monkey's right, despite your views on things, they suck no matter what they're saying hahahaha!

Oh my.

This reminds me of the "hip hop" group I saw when at a local art thing-a-ma-bob. They were for a "positive future" but they just sucked. :?
