I actually got it for a really good deal. I bought it last year after I sold my '65 Lambretta Li150 (Lam-broken as they call them). It's an 06, and it only had about 150 miles on it at the time. Got it for $1200 which is a steal... apparently the guy was really hard up for cash. Insurance runs me about $70 a year. manual says it gets something like 100 miles to the gallon on average, but I've never bothered to actually check. the thing is practically free to run. maintenance/oil changes/etc are really simple, and you need a minimal amount of tools. plus it's a yamaha, so parts are much more affordable then most italian bikes. |

In just a few days my LX 150 will be 1 year old! To celebrate, I was thinking of getting a new exhaust, though that would cut into toy funds.... *edit* I was thinking, "didn't somebody make a scooter thread once?" Then I found out it was me.... viewtopic.php?f=5&t=21969&p=293260&hilit=scooter#p293260 stupid stupid stupid |

That is a very modified Suzuki Gemma. When I was over in Japan the scooters had the same effect on me, find out if they are available here and get one. Watching people sitting on these low slung and heavily modded scooters like Akira bikes had me wondering why its mostly older people that ride them here. I have a Yamaha Maxam (called a Morphous over here) with a few things done to it. The Gemma isnt out here in the US as of now, and Im not sure if it will be coming here. My yamaha: ![]() ![]() ![]() Plenty of work til it looks more like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tokyo_scooter_stuff/3011337903/sizes/o/ |

scooters are the best thing ever, the only problem is other people on the roads that don't notice you i had white Vespa PX125 (changed to 175) and was amazing until one day i got knocked off and woke up 3 days later from a coma, broken bones (lots), fractured skull, punctured lung and kidney and tubs in places i swore things would never go (8 years ago now which seems odd) honestly the worst time of my life, but i would get another now if my wife would let me but she would worry like hell if i got another, and i don't want her to go through what she did the first time again, oh and it was a person who was on a mobile who drove into me so not my fault not sure if the US has scooter meetings but the ones i used to go to where amazing, good music, people and scooters all in one place i will dig out some pics (not from the accident as that would be mental) |

Absolutely love that Jetsons/Belaire scooter! Don't know about those others with all that rake though - I thought scooters were for throwing around...seems like you lose all that control once you rake out the front. |

Scooter or motorcyle, you decide? Here's my ride. Kikker 5150 kit bike, 110 cc, max of around 55 mph, 90 miles to the gallon. I love giving the guy at the gas station $1.00 and telling him I'll be back for change.

How about a Honda Ruckus...they look pretty cool and there's mod potential as well. I'm not into scooters but if I was I'd get a classic Vespa or a Ruckus. |

the ruckus isn't a bad looking little bike. I like the bare bones effect. I more into classic front shield type scoots, but if I were to buy another I'd get a ruckus or a yamaha c3 ![]() boxy, but I like it a lot. |
