nothing beats being invited to dinner, especially as im a lousy cook myself. takoyaki looked awesome and tasted even better.

That looks great! This is the bane of my wifes cooking existence right now! She can make them TASTE great, but she's really bad at making them nice, little balls. We have the right type of pan/grill for it, she just hasn't gotten the coordination yet. They come out more like the Death Star II, half round, half all busted up. I can't do it well either but it drives her nuts since she's really into cooking. I love any kind of yaki-batter styled stuff pretty much. Had a big ass Okonomiyaki the other day and could have eaten the thing by myself though I wouldn't be able to move later if I did. |

I need one of those grills. I have a big ol bag of mix I need to use. Need to make pineapple Takoyaki! Maybe I'll pick one up my next japan trip. |

Cmon, you're in California, surely there's somewhere that has a legit one. I'm in GA and found endless options (believe it or not, there's a large and diverse Asian community around the Atlanta area.) Unless you're just looking for an excuse to go to Japan that is? |
