Heading to San Diego today to meet up with my wife and kids to take them to Sea World for their Birthday tomorrow and have today to burn while they're at the SD Wild Animal Park.

What shops could I easily get to (walkable) if I am staying at the W Downtown? I believe on Columbia...few blocks from Harbor Street.

Also, what would be a good place to eat tonight (kid friendly) as well as Breakfast place for a Birthday start off point?

LMFAO Bryce!!!!

Now if the food wasn't subpar and was wasn't concerned with peeing on something other then a urinal , I would have loved eating in the pitch black with 2 6-year olds who are currently deathly afraid of the dark

Sorry to me so long to respond....Yes I went to the new Corvette Diner but can't say that I had a good experience but appreciate the thought.

We decided to do the the diner since we had about a hour and a half to spare prior to having to leave for the airport.

It so happened that they were having a 2-day Classic Corvette show on July 11th/July 12th which was a bonus since there were many beautiful classics.

On the way up to the door, I heard a couple people saying that it was a weird place to have the diner (but since I was never at the original I couldn't comment)

The line was out the door when we got there - The Rock Church may have just gotten out at that time.

We asked how long it would be for a table and we were told 1 hour....That was fine since it was a beautiful day and we could just order out and sit outside by the painted cow statues......so I thought.

We placed our order which was pretty quick with the waitress Lauretta...I got the the burger with the mayo and peanut butter, My wife got the black bean patty, and my kids the grilled cheese sandwiches as well as the shakes (had to get the Toasted Marshmallow shake)

10 minutes into waiting I old my Nucleus to go sit outside and listen to the music I should be out shortly..................................45 minutes later when I was told that another waitress took my shakes and gave them to someone else and that there were three shakes I could have that were the other customers shakes plus they will remake mine

An additional 20 minutes later (after Lauretta went back into the cooking area to find where my food was three time, it took a manager to walk back to have my food ready in less than a minute) and looked like they time my original shakes to show up right when I was ready to say fughetaboutit.

Needless to say we wound up drinking the shakes in the car to the airport and eating our food when we got to the terminal

I give it 3 stars (two of those stars go to Lauretta for doing her best to make sure I got my food and the other star for realizing that peanut butter and hamburger work swell together)

They didn't throw straws or Bazooka gum and they didn't even seem rude........so it was kinda like being at a Planet Hollywood (cause Marilyn Monroe was hanging about)

Food was good but lost it's appeal since I had to eat on the run. Would have loved to go to the older one since they probably still do all those fun things
