I thought I would see if our friend RotoKirby had posted any SDCC photos and ran into this: "Just heard that the Chris ryniak stitch custom was stolen at sdcc... Keep your eyes open so we can catch the scum who did it." WTF?

I'm not sure why theft surprises anyone, it sucks, it always happens.

Someone stole the life size wax figure of Philip K. Dick at the ComicCon many moons ago....

Maybe next year the stormtroopers should have real gunz ?

How on earth do you steal a lifesize wax figure? Put on a jumpsuit with an "A1 Moving Co." patch and chuck it on a dolly?

Ok, maybe it wasn't stolen. Maybe it was "raptured" ? This is the pre-cog MASTER after all...

(actually it was lifted at the airport after being viewed at ComicCon, i think it was an inside job and is sitting in some MILLIONAIRE computer or Hollywood luminaries home. Why would baggage handlers give a shit? do they read books on their break? )

UPDATE: It was not a wax figure, but an android Robot version of PKD.)

Looking at that picture, and I can understand someone stealing it just to drown it at sea. Perfect picture for krotchrot.

SDCC spells thieves! I had someone pick up a standard zag for me a couple years ago, and while he was tending his table, someone stole it still in the bag. With crowds like they have there, good luck catching someone even if you see it happen!

We passed by the Mindstyle display and these Stitches are displayed in a crate. It's an open box and you literally have to walk into the display area to take one of these. What they should have done is close off the opening with glass.

I don't know how they pulled it off either as these are not small and would take me two hands to lift.

this will probably end up for sale someplace since these dimwits tend to be, well, dim witted.

I didn't think I got a picture of the Ryniak but I did. It was on top of the crates. I can see how someone could grab it now.

Post subject:  Re: SDCC theft

I know! I was like...what's that white streak on the head? When I got closer it was damage. I think either their handling of the toy OR because it's placed on the ground, people's shoes, bags etc could have hit it and the damage is from that.

MS had the worst display of these.
Honestly, half of them were below eye level and why would you display stuff on the ground.
And the space between the crates was a tight fit considering how many bags people were lugging around.
The worst part is that none of the artist got their dues.
No information was provided on who painted what.
Only reason to visit the MS booth was to lounge in the chair next to Lilo or see if the hot girl was working.

Post subject:  Re: SDCC theft

MS said they will send it back to me after the next stop so I can repair it, but at this point its beyond repair with the way I painted it. It needs a full repaint.
