Ok so guess what? Long before I was a sofubi collector and a [expletive deleted] superstar designer I collected comics... GASP! I know I know suprising eh? Im a 70's Marvel Zombie and read em through the 80s and DC's heyday then. I quit when Image hit the scene and the Gold Fail covers became the deriguer and havent looked back since. One of the things about (American) comics is that they feel like empty calories, they cost a lot and you pretty much blow through them in 5 - 10 minutes.Totally not worth the money sink when I can spend all my money on Lucky Bags.

Digressing aside, I have been reading the SHIT out of DC's Wednesday Comics. If you dont know, they are printed like the old Sunday comics (but on nicer paper) and there are 12 stories told a page at a time for 12 weeks. Its 4 bucks and they are doing lots of crazy stuff like Neil Gaiman & Mike Allred are doing Silver Age Metamorpho stories, a new Kamandi story and Kyle Baker doing a serious Hawkman joint. Also, theres batman and supes and GL but they are kinda just whatever to me. The Metal Men story is good as well. If you are looking for a quick cheap read with good art and stories this is it.

I got the first issue of this, and its cool, I haven't read it all yet- I brought it to work to read and the last to weeks I spent re-reading LotR, so I'll probably pick it up- I bought on a whim while killing some time at a comic shop I hadn't visited in like 10 years. My question is how many issues are out, in case I have to find back issues?

And yeah Abe's right, the art and paper are nice. I'm loving the Mike Allred Metamorpho story.

Only up to week 3 so far. You know what tho the Wonder Woman story is real purty but the layout is so squirrely that I havent even tried to read it.

i haven't picked these up yet, but i plan to.
i love the concept and bringing back the old-school style.
i always wanted dc to run a weekly ongoing series entitled DCU, covering the entire DCU and all it's characters in a real-time fashion. i guess this is the closest i will get to that...

upon abe's suggestion i picked up this series.
up to issue 7 so far.
love the cliffhanger feel on a weekly basis.
many good reads.
many different styles-all great.
but i do agree with the wonder woman one being a little too hard to read.
Paul Pope has never looked better.
his Strange Adventures pages are awesome in this size.
Gaiman and Allred are having fun with Metamorpho.
Kamandi fighting apes, what's not to love?
do your self a favor and check these out.
