Does paypal charge the seller more when the buyer uses a credit card (as opposed to a transfer)? (I think they used to, but did they stop?) I looked on the Paypal site, but the fee chart does not show if a cc charge is an additional fee on top of the usual seller's fee. |

Section 8 here covers it. https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/UserAgreement/ua/USUA-outside#fees-policy it seems to be based on whether it's a commercial transaction or a personal transaction and the method of payment. I seem to recall though at some point, once I received so many dollars through PayPal, they forced me to declare myself as a merchant and therefore incurred the fees no matter what kind of payment I received. There aren't any 'additional' fees on top of the PayPal fee charged though. (2.9% +) Perhaps that was just through ebay, though. The last rule seems to be saying that no matter what, if the buyer logs into paypal and selects a 'personal' payment that no fee will be charged if the payment is exclusively from a bank account draft or from the Paypal balance. Maybe we should all start doing that when paying for stuff here. Choose 'personal' and send our toy payments as 'gifts' to one another if paying with a bank draft... |

Just send it as a 'gift', its a flat fee of $1.60 that the buyer can pay before it even reaches you. Include your addy in the message bit though as it doesn't go through automatically. |
