There's a number of ways to sell this film to people, the way the majority of the publicity for it reads is "£45($70) Facebook Zombie films ravages Cannes Film Festival" but that does Colin an injustice of apocalyptic proportions. (crap, that's a good line, I'm keeping that)
It is low low minuscule budget, but it's a labour of passion, astonishingly competent and accomplished for what it is. Basically the surprisingly touching story of a zombie as he wanders aimlessly through his unlife.
Seriously, when this breaks over into the States, see it!
Finally something new in a tired dragging genre.

I'm sold.

Romero's working on a new one I hear too...plus the upcoming WD series...

It's a good time to be dead.

I was a bit rushed before - Here's the website with a trailer http://www.nowherefast.tv/
Also I should stress that this is NOT a low budget in the sense that you laugh at it's ineptitude, but rather a film that proves you don't need a big budget to make a good film.
I caught a screening last night and had had it bigged up to me, so I leveled my expectations and was suitably impressed. Not since the Iron Giant was I surprised at my reaction to a film... esp about zombies.

It's getting a theatrical release in the UK in, I think, Oct. So I would imagine it will hit arthouses in the states early/mid next year.

I'm a sucker for anything zombie, and watched the trailer and thought its not that bad. THEN I watched the clip # 1 and lost all interest. The dude with the slingshot totally ruined it. And I'm tired of shaky camera movement use to hide a crapy movie, arghh get a new tool to disguise your crappy film making.

Sorry if I just ruined this thread ..

Honestly Rich, it's not used to hide anything that's part of the limitations of the equipment they were using.

While I'm still interested I have to say I also found the overly shakyness in clip #1 highly annoying. I don't think I could watch this on the big screen if the camera "work" is constantly like that - and this is coming from someone who loved Cloverfield. Doesn't look to me like they necessarily needed to "disguise their crappy filmmaking" though, just seems a poor stylistic choice. Reminds me of all the hyperbolic camera-shaking in Splinters that just seemed to take away from the great effects and creature design...

I guess you right, but the last few low budget zombie flicks I have seen are exactly like this and its kills it for me. Low budget doesn't mean you need to shake the camera to high hell. You just need to make everything else that much more interesting for the lack of equipment. Or at least think of a new way to edit the film to keep the pace and intensity. I think more than anything though is the guy with the slingshot is what i disliked the most. Once I saw that and how he was shown as what looked like a main character I lost interest. Hopefully he will get his face eaten soon after this scene to save the movie for me

I do like the idea of seeing the life of a person becoming a zombie and showing the progression of his thoughts and how his family reacts ( seems there is family as a girl mentions that he is her brother). Thats a plot idea that I can get into.

The odds are though, if this hits a rental location I will probably rent no matter what I say because I have no control :)

I won't endlessly defend the film, but I promise it's really good. It's sort of like the Let the Right One In of zombie films.
