They weren't, but the added alot of character to the figure, especially in the head. I'm not skilled enough yet to have intentionally manipulated the drip patterns. There's two or three in the feet that weren't ideal, but the head drips made a pretty cool burst effect. |

pickleloaf wrote: are the drips intentional? I think that they are just part of the issues he had when doing this, as his first time painting the inside rather than the outside. Here's a bit from the original thread in the custom sectio Prometheum5 wrote: I wanted to try painting the figure from the inside, since I really like the figure and wanted to be able to still handle it and play with it afterward without worrying about damaging the custom paint. I kept the paint scheme simple, and found that painting figures from the inside is hugely difficult… I had some problems with the paint sticking, and then beading up, as well as running, as evident in a few places, but overall I’m happy with how the figure came out. The lips and mouth and eye were painted from the outside. |

Yeah, like I said, they were not in purpose, as this was the first figure I painted from the inside, but they did not turn out bad. The person who almost bought this liked the 'hand-made' feel it gave the figure |

Thanks, I'm actually just about to start work on a large commission, and have been amassing RxH and M1GO blanks. |

Just a couple of quick tips for inner spray to avoid runs: first, before you paint try wiping off the inside of the vinyl with a paper towel. There's usually some run-off from the oils in the vinyl that have a tendency to build up on the inside and can cause drips in your paint (particularly if the figure was assembled right after the vinyl was pulled). Then, instead of using one thick coat use several thin coats. That will minimize the possibility of runs. If you notice your paint beading up on the inside (it looks like its sweating) that means there are still some oils on the inside of the vinyl. You might want to use some acetone/thinner to knock off the paint you applied, wipe it down (or even wash it out with some mild soapy water and let it dry) and then try again. Good luck on your customs! |

One other thing: that paint job would probably look good with a dark rub on the outside to highlight the scales and downplay some of the inconsistencies in the inner coat. Just an idea! |

I posted it up here because I had someone lined up to buy it and backed out... it wasn't expressly made to sell, but since I had one interested person I figured I'd jut test the waters. |

Thanks for the support Lee. The price was already agreed upon by another member, so that was the obvious choice to try and re-list it publicly. All I'm gonna do with the money is buy more toys anyway |

'brainers have been a tough crowd ever since I can remember.... Just enjoy toys, customizing, & whatever else you do. Some folks here like my stuff, some don't; but either way I'm here to stay. (because I don't have a blog) |
