Annoyed by the endless "your favorite shelf" and "what did you get in the mail" threads? I miss individual member pic threads. I miss when months would go by and I had to actually use search option to find the pic thread I liked. Please I encourage more individual pic threads.....over an out. Oh and PS "congrats on the score" has become the new +1 here....I prefer "you lucky son of I FART A LOT asshole"... to 'congrats on the score' |

Huh... I thought the Mail thread was an awesome place for everyone to deposit their latest little scores and compare hauls. I know it's the Collections board, but I always get more fun looking through or contributing to the themed threads, rather than just a spam of ten people's individual photo dump threads. To each his own, I suppose. |

Whole Collection thread aside (because I can look at whole collections all day long) I prefer my threads in non novel format. |

I agree with Prometheum5. Having the mail thread, fave shelf and similar-like threads are fun. Everyone can hop on in and share, spark up a conversation and contribute to the community. This is not to say that I don't enjoy looking at individual pic threads but it does keep the board cleaner. |

Yeah but it gets old when it goes on an on. Also if people here are so worried about keeping the board tidy how about saying something more constructive than congrats on the score. I bet half of that thread is just endless congrats |

I like more individual threads as well, if only because people don't tend to actually type the names of the items they are posting in the 'The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread' etc. so one won't come across those items when they do a forum search for the sculpt, maker, artist, etc. A new thread started about a specific item(s) usually will have all that information. I also wish more people had threads of their own personal collections, as so many people who are apt to take pics of random stuff as it arrives haven't shared pics of their full collection, which is what collecting is really about for me. I personally think we should have more 25 page threads where like 6 people harp about how shitty a toy is ad nauseam. |

I don't have a problem with those threads. They are easy to check quickly while at work. If i want to dig deeper i'll do that when i have more time in the evening at home. |

Good point that is why I like individual threads better also. I get all excited to check new posts and on endless threads I go "crap, no I'm not happy for your score it hurts my eyes....." Joking, but you know what I mean. I like people who tease in the title but elude to what I'm going to see pics of. Anything other than "congrats on your score". I prefer funny jabs over endless congrats. I guess from now on I'll have to leave a permanent |

Just Got In The Mail Treads- Silly, yeah, but honestly most of those posts would be their own whole thread just to show off 3 toys and would clog the "Show Off" section WAY more so it serves a purpose in containing what would otherwise be non-stop individual threads of 2-5 toy shots taken with a cell phone. Fav Shelf- Is great IMO. It has a containment quality, but also has a more unique purpose. "Out of all your junk, which set up is your fav!?" It's more than just ONE TOY or even your FAVORITE but the shelf. To me a big thing about these toys are how they display together, work as a unit to create one large more interest mob of toys. Each shelf in someones collection has it's own vibe, I like seeing them. The whole "great score" is the new "+1" for sure. At least add something to it, why is it a great score? Is it because it's rare? Is it because you like that toy? If so, WHY? Keep going WITH PASSION! |

I think like BD69. Added to that is the fact that it's keeping us on track on what is getting out or has been traded or sold in the BST. It is kind of a anit-flip tread in a way. I'm also holding to Lixx suggestion of at least naming the toys that are presented. |

I'm with you. It's annoying as hell. Not as much as people updating their want threads/trade threads every other hour, but it's definitely up there. i don't post too many photos of what I own, which generally leads to PM's saying "I didn't think you collected that" when I publicly express interest in something. I don't need to take 9 pictures in different light of the same toy and "show it off" to everyone. It turns into a giant "who can outspend whom" fest. I've almost completed a set of a certain fight figure recently, but I doubt most people here would know that. Why would they? I also completely stay out of the customs area. I like the work some people do (Paul, Dennis, Walker), but half the time it's people butchering poor toys and covering them with endless layers of paint to the point that I wonder if they can breathe. Wow you got my real opinion out today... |

I would agree with most of that but, again, containment. If that thread didn't exist there'd be endless, annoying "Looky what I bought" threads, unending! It's unrealistic to expect that type of thing to go away, so I feel containing it is a better and more practical answer. Hey look, I'm a politician with the way I'm talking now! I just look at Flickr for pics I really care about. |
