it's kind of a neat idea...i think...from what i saw there wasn't very many options. It would be way cooler if you could upload custom patterns or artwork onto the site and customize with those. I guess it's a good way for them to make sure they don't produce a certain color/design that no one is interested in and be able to sell (cash in on) something that feels like a blind box toy to someone who probably has no interest in getting just luck of the draw. I know i won't be ordering one any time soon...

I really like the idea. Wish they were endlessly customizable but I'm sure that would drive the price up. Seems like a cool start though. The fruit designs are cute but pretty generic.

It says the characters were created by Ghostbot(the same people that make the E-surance commercials)?

Seem over priced for what it is to me.
And they are just non articulated figures, right?

Something like this seems like a lot more fun: http://www.akibanana.com/?q=node/959. This looks like the same kind of 3d printing, but it isn't much fun if you have to use their models.

just send a drawing to me and I'll make you a figure :)

the surface on those 3D printed figures is awful, like 80 grit sandpaper and I'm not sure if they can be sanded because they're basically made of sand.

HAND SCULPTED FOR LIFE!

The whole technology of it is awesome though.

Those figures suck.

I believe a transfer takes place in sculpting. I feel Rapid Prototyped figures no matter how flawless or detailed they might be just seem hollow. Toys sculpted by hand hold a certain energy - a trace of human spirit.

My GF and I ordered one of these just to see what they looked like. They suck beyond belief, as everyone thought. To get away from the sand paper gritty texture they put a high gloss coating on the figure. My GF said it best as it's something you would find as a carnival prize. Cool idea, shitty execution as expected.
