Was this post made because there's a reunion happening this year? Or to remember how 18 years ago around this time Chris cut his hair off? |

As far as the ill-fated solo career, I think Cornell's version of "Billy Jean" is better than Michael's... |

Of Soundgarden's music output, I only like BadMotorFinger, which was great. The other stuff...no. They did have a fantastic drummer though! |

I dug up some old bootleg cassettes, a dusty old blaster and painted my basement to these guys a few weeks ago. I used to love this band. |

i still hold soundgarden pretty near and dear, although i super rarely pull them out. one of the first bands i paid any attention to when i was young. batmotorfinger was great, i also remember being into louder than love at some point. superunknown had a couple good moments, but mostly not my favorite. |

SoundGarden back? YES! Saw them a few times back in teh day - favorite time being the Aragorn Ballroom in Chicago with Swervedriver opening - killer show! Chris let himself fall backwards from a balcony area if memory serves me...into arms outstretched. Also, his first solo album was really, really good IMO. I never heard the recent Timbaland stuff - but nor did I care too. Glad to have SG back. Other great re-unions IMO are Dinosaur Jr - they could be even better now than they were in the eighties and of course teh Pixies. Last Novembers shows at the Palladium were all killer! |

I'd say SG are a straight ahead rock band - and a great one. Forget the grunge tag. U notice I didnt include Alice In Chains in my round-up of classic re-unions. |

no matter what genre you place them under, soundgarden always sounded super cheesy to me. mostly because of the vocals. |

Joe Bunny wrote: no matter what genre you place them under, soundgarden always sounded super cheesy to me. mostly because of the vocals. Wow really? I used to think Chris made them sound too metal for my tastes - but I grew to love it - which isnt that surprising considering my metallic upbringing. |
