Too funny. I work at the Buffalo News and this morning while at work my co worker phones me up and says "Did you see that article in the paper this morning about Japanese toys?" Stunned and thinking she probably meant some fad toy, I looked and sure enough on page C7 and short article on the Morphy Auction back in November.

Funny blurbs:

"A recent auction by Morphy of Denver Pa, was held to sell a huge collection of toys, including 50 Japanese kaiju (strange beast) toys."

"The toys have been "invading" the US and their popularity and prices are rising"

It's funny my co-workers all know I collect these "toys" and actually remembered them being japanese.

50? A hell of a lot more than that.

That's what was funny about the article: shabby reporting. Can't even get the facts right.

Well, it's good to know that due to a 'shabby' article on C7, you are now legitimate! Before, you were just some eccentric w/ toys.

They gathered around my desk to view my flickr page. I got a lot of "OMG that's a lot of toys! What does your G/F think?" To which I replied "She doesn't really like them and my collection is pretty small compared to most."

I do wonder if the article was off the wire or done in house. If it was in house I think I need to show this guy the morphy catalog!
