Post subject:  Tweets from orbit

Thought this might be of interest to the Japanese reading hard core geeks around here: http://tcrn.ch/c8uujV

Japan's beat everybody to the punch, I think, and put a satellite into orbit that can be followed on Twitter, using the catchy twitter handle Cubesat @XI_V. Its profile pic makes it look like that accessory to the Mad Baron, but I might be projecting here..

Sure, it's one of those twitter types that only talks about itself, but that's ok too in my book. Sadly for me, it tweets in Japanese, so I won't get much out of it for entertainment. Not even when put through the translator..

I was already following the Japanese astronaut, Soichi Noguchi, so orbital tweets are nothing new, but this is just out there (up there?).
Can hardly wait for the next Mars spacecraft to be hooked up with a twitter persona..
