![]() It's now official. http://www.ronniejamesdio.com/ Message from Wendy Dio Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever. - Wendy Dio |

Oh man this sucks. One of the first records that I purchased when I was a kid was Holy Diver...and I always loved his Sabbath stuff. I also always really dug the crazy videos he used to do for MTV. Well, end seems impending, sadly. I just start listening to Heaven & Hell, the band, recently. Good stuff. |

It appears to be really true now... I'm not familiar with his solo work, but Heaven and Hell is one of the best Sabbath albums. |

Since Funnyara was here for Wonderfest, we paid our respects last night by watching The Pick Of Destiny. He had never seen it and loved it. Now he wants to find a copy before he returns to Japan. Now go my son and rock! |

Holy Diver is still such a great toon. My Dio memory is when I was a kid and, of course, parents thought Sabbath was too loud and dark for a litle kid. My best pal had an older brother who would blast Mob Rules constantly. I never got sick of hearing "the moooooooooob ruuuuules!" Rock In Peace. |

i remember this gal who worked in the receiving area of Tower Records D.C. She was probably one of the biggest DIO fans i'd ever met. Trish would hit up most of his shows on the east coast tours and did hit a few other locales to follow her rock god hero. she had patches all over her various denim jackets she owned. im afraid to think of how much DIO memorabilia she has at home. I def thought about her when i first heard of this news. R.I.P DIO! |
