It does look kinda cheesy. But I love stuff like that- half the fun. I'd go just for shits and giggles. |

The Voodoo Museums can be cool if you collect odd trinkets. Like these little statues of saints and devils made somewhere in South America. http://www.nolaunderground.com/ - good club listings for metal enthusists. We have several local breweries now include NOLA, Abita, and others. Kevlo9's photos are all from the French Quarter and walking there can be fun as long as it is not 90+ degrees outside... |

Have not been home post-Katrina, but when I moved in 2000, these were my faves (would need to check and see if still around or still any good): Breakfast--Croissant d'Or on Ursulines; Camellia Grill on S Carrolton; Mr B's Bistro on Royal St (had this AMAZING pasta dish for breakfast) Lunch/Dinner--Fiorella's on French Market Place for Friend Chicken; Port of Call on Esplanade for burgers; Camellia Grill again; Clover Grill on Bourbon (campy entertainment with food); Mother's on Poydras; Dickie Brennan's on Iberville for steak; Jacques-Imo's on Oak; Coop's Place on Decatur; Galatoire's on Bourbon; Feeling's Cafe D'Aunoy on Chartres That's all I can remember off the top of my head... |

Take a Haunted Cemetery or Ghost tour. You can look at all the history and architecture. There used to be some leather fetish store with leather masks that make the "Saw" movie franchise look tame. They sold a bunch of leather that looks like this. Which is what reminded me of it anyhow and where the band is from. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLFtQ90H6O4 |

Kevlo9 wrote: ![]() Roger, I think you would like this place too. Dive on par with Rutt's (ok maybe a little nicer than Rutts) I also have to second the Beignets at Cafe Du Monde. Its touristy, but you will be a tourist, so its ok. I really enjoyed seeing Cemeteries, which I usually hate. |
