I'm about to hit my triple digits this summer. (I'm at 97 coasters ridden right now) I think there's one or 2 of you here that are also park nuts. Anyone want to compare stats?

not really a coaster nut but when I get out to a park it is definately awsome, given due to the fact I live in northern ohio plenty of coaster scooting fun, I miss seaworld and geauga lake being separate entities though  with The Wave awsome pool with a mascot that might as welll be Odoron's big bro, bahhhh I miss that shit, top thrill dragster definately an awsome coaster, if you have not been to Cedar Point and you are in this thread shoot yourself now or buy a ticket

wierd usually people I know are more freaked out by the woodies given the lack of upstops and all the noise

I grew up in Western PA, so I know that Ohio is Coaster capital. I never went when I lived out there, and now its quite a trek. I'm sure I'll get there eventually, but the older I get the more I hate parks like Cedar point and Six Flags. No personality.

good theming and atmosphere beats rides for me almost every time. My favorite parks have a good mix of both.

the video does not do the speed and acceleration justice, this thing freaked me the F out the first time I rode it, the sides of the car are non-existant and all you get is a lap bar, my sister has been on it when it did not make it all the way up the hill, she says it is pretty sweet

The millennium force is the best coaster I've ever been on. It's so fast and so smooth. My wife lost her vision on it. The Gs man, the Gs.

Personality or not, Cedar Point has ruined me for life. I've been going there since the 70s and no other park I've been to can even come close.

This. I first went there probably 4-5 years ago and have since gone back once or twice (can't remember). It's such an awesome park and every ride pound for pound blows away Six Flags Great Adventure (previously mentioned here) where the lines are so long you get to ride like 2 things and feel like the entire place is somehow going to explode around you. Cedar Point really is the best park there is; Top Thrill Dragster in the front is probably my favorite coaster experience, it's just so much of a thrill and you feel like you're flying above the world.

Other parks to check out would be Hersheypark, which has some AWESOME wooden coasters, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg, which has some of the most iconic coasters. Alpengeist there is SO awesome.

Man, can't believe it's been like 2 years since I've been on a rollercoaster.

I'm an Ohioan as well and swear by Cedar Point, that place is a summer ritual for me.

Fuck Kings Island.

I still have never been to king's island because of cedar point and geaga lake (when it was open and was a closer option). I still want to go to king's island just because I remember all the random stories growing up of someone getting killed every few years on the standing coaster (a novelty back then). I need to make it to king's dominion this year to try out the new coaster there, the volcano they have is by far one of my all time favorite coasters.

I used to do cedar point once a year. Now my girlfriend hates coasters so it makes it tough to go, coaster are definetly better with company. :(

I grew up on the shore of Lake Erie about 7 miles from Cedar Point. We weren't a very well-off family, but every Christmas morning for nearly 15 years we always had season passes waiting for us in the stockings. Damn, I can't even begin to guess the number of times I've been to CP.

No other park has ever come close...and I write this a mere 15 minute drive from Disneyland. :)

Congratulations Missy! I hit my 500 mark this summer (Hades at Mt. Olympus in Wisconsin Dells.)

Cedar Point was also my "home park" growing up in Akron. Our trip there was the highlight of every summer. The Blue Streak was my first adult coaster; I rode it between my mother and my aunt back when the park ended about where the Corkscrew corkscrews are now...only the train and the boat trip went back into the wilds of the peninsula. I really miss the Fun House which was where Wicked Twister is now.

I don't remember the fun house. I must have been too young or was just interested in things that moved.

I really miss the Sky Slide. It was simple and lots of fun. Luckily I never got "friction burns".

the only roller coasters I get to ride these days are Disney ones which are not bad. Missy, how do they compare to the six flag ones and other amusement rides?
