I've often bought from people here and realized afterwards they were also selling some Western items elsewhere. I'm not advocating posting those here as well, but it might be nice to add a note to your sales saying you have some and to contact you for a list/link. Would have saved me some money in shipping + boosted some people's sales... |

I agree, maybe a link would work. |

I disagree. There are already places to get western stuff. Plus that kind of query can be done via PM. |

Nate wrote: I disagree. There are already places to get western stuff. Plus that kind of query can be done via PM. Agree with your disagree. Sections of this board have already become kr-lite. I don't think we need anymore extensions of it. This is a forum for jp vinyl. This place isn't a one shop place for all toys..it's for JP vinyl. I have nothing against western vinyl or kr...but I'd prefer that this board stay with it's original vision. Some of the people on here that I consider friends collect Western Vinyl stuff but I always liked that they keep it separate. I mean...if I'm interested in basketball..I'm not going to go on a mlb forum and start talking about other stuff. Also why is this thread even in the For Sale section? Move it to the whatever section. |

Yes, there are other places to go and get Western stuff. Let's keep that crap out of Skullbrain |

Just say no. Everybody knows where to get the western stuff if they want it and byrce hit the nail on the head square with this comment: bryce_r wrote: Agree with your disagree. Actually, I'm sort of disturbed it's even being discussed! |

Well I thought since it was related to sales, it belonged here... But by all means, if a mod wants to move it... Let's not get carried away, I'm not talking about discussing it or posting pictures, just adding a line saying you have other stuff available. I think we're all aware there are other spots to go for Western vinyl. But we also all know rummaging through the crap, bumps, +1s and flippers is a pain. I'd assume people here have better tastes / are more mature, etc., so it would save everyone time and aggravation. |

bad idea, and not a modest one at all...it would change the entire sale forum. opens the door for a whole heap of trouble. |

I enjoy this board a lot; I haven't been able to say that about KR for 2-3 years. Without harping on what seemed to be a good idea by a nice person, I think it would be great if each board kept its own flavor, ambience, whatever. Besides, if I wanted to sell small rabbit like objects named after Australian bathrooms here I'd go lysdexic just trying to type the name in. It's all fine if you like western or "art" toys, I'll bet a lot of people besides myself started out with them and still have warm spots in their hearts for the genre. We just don't do it here. |

Perhaps I'm misreading most of the responses here, but it seems to me that most are totally misunderstanding what the original poster suggested. I believe what he is suggesting might look something like this: "I have the following items for sale: NagNagBlahblahblah - $xxx.xx Bemonwhatever - $xxx.xx I'm also selling some toys that we don't discuss here. If anyone is interested drop me a PM." Seems harmless to me. To those who are naysayers in this thread, is my above example what you are against or did you think the original post was suggesting something else? |

I think everyone understands. The complaint is it opens things up for the rules to be bent- new members to be confused- and generally annoy people. |

If they understand, then why have some said "I mean...if I'm interested in basketball..I'm not going to go on a mlb forum and start talking about other stuff." and "Yes, there are other places to go and get Western stuff.", etc.? Even in context, those statements in no way address what the original poster was suggesting. You're also overlooking that this has already been done. I can't say that it's a regular thing, but I know I've seen it. I don't recall any of the naysayers from this thread (or anyone for that matter) speaking up when it happened, either. |

Why are you asking for our permission? If you just did it, I bet no one would say anything. Too late now. |

akum6n wrote: Why are you asking for our permission? If you just did it, I bet no one would say anything. Too late now. I didn't write it, but I was thinking that exact thing. Like I said, I know I've seen it happen before and not a word was said against it. If it happens again, most likely not a word will be said against it. But, if someone asks if they can do it, everyone has something to say against it. I guess that's just how message boards work. I actually don't think it is too late, either. Every now and then someone asks about bumping threads and everyone speaks up against it, but that doesn't stop it from happening on a regular basis. |

It is addressing what the original poster said. Can we add something saying "by the way... I also have so and so unrelated stuff I want to sell". People are letting it be known that, since the original poster asked, we don't want to see it here. No, "Here's my Secret Base figs for sale. I also have some fishing tackle and 2 nice Christmas themed sweaters for sale too. Hit me up." The For Sale Forum here is for stuff related to Skullbrain. Not for things that you can't even type the name of. Well aware that it does happen. Sometimes people say something. Sometimes they just ignore it. But since we were asked. We are giving our opinion. If this starts happening, be prepared to take some flack I guess. |

I always wanted to know where the line is drawn between Western and JP vinyl, because Le Merde, to me, is NOT JP vinyl, yet no one seems to have a problem with people discussing/selling/displaying it. |

As long as you are not (1) linking to live auctions, or (2) linking to the KR board, I don't really care what you are selling or where you are selling it. Some of the most interesting things come up here, but are not JP VINYL ONLY. I mean, look at the Predator prototypes a few threads down. Pretty damn cool. Do they "fit" with SB? I don't think so. But it's nice to see them here. Although... I might draw the line at selling non-toy items, like iPhones and laptops. Always have found that incredibly tacky. |

This place gets more westernized by the day so I'd hate to see more KR crap get it's foot in the door. We're grumpy old men here: CHANGE = NO GOOD. |
