How sad, both Paprika and Paranoia Agent are great. Rest in peace.

Sad. He always came up with great, innovative stuff and stood shoulders above the majority of redundant, uninspired anime out there.

Shit, this is depressing.
He was not only a great anime writer/director but also a manga
artist. I think only Kaikisen was translated, hope more will come out someday.

One of the greatest directors of all time period. It's a great loss to the Anime community, and one of like 3 directors still doing original groundbreaking stuff.

This news truly saddened me. I'm a huge fan of all of his work and Perfect Blue is one of my all time favorite films. His style was truly unique and the world of animation won't be the same without his influence.

Excerpts from his farewell message can be read here -
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20 ... is-passing

"With feelings of gratitude for all that is good in this world, I put down my pen.

Well, I'll be leaving now.

Satoshi Kon"
